The difference between 6061,6063,7075 aluminum plate

Three kinds of alloy composition is different, mechanical properties are different, product use is not the same.

First, the alloy composition is different

6061 aluminum plate and 6063 aluminum plate are 6 series aluminum plate, the composition of 6 series aluminum plate is aluminum, magnesium, silicon alloy, 7075 aluminum plate is 7 series aluminum plate, its composition is aluminum, zinc alloy.

The silicon content of 6061 aluminum plate is between 0.4 and 0.8, and the magnesium content is between 0.8 and 1.2, while the silicon content of 6063 aluminum plate is between 0.2 and 0.6, and the magnesium content is between 0.45 and 0.9. The hardness of 6061 is higher than that of 6063.

7075 is an aluminum alloy with zinc as the main alloying element, but sometimes a small amount of magnesium and copper are added. Among them, superduraluminum-containing zinc, lead, magnesium and copper alloy, which is close to the hardness of steel, can be strengthened by heat treatment, is a high strength, heat treatable alloy, corrosion resistance is common, good mechanical properties.

Two, different mechanical properties

Hardness and strength are the main differences between the three.

Brinell hardness of 6061-T6 aluminum plate ≥95HB;

Brinell hardness of 6063-T6 aluminum plate ≥73HB;

Brinell hardness of 7075-T6 aluminum plate ≥150HB.

Three, the product uses are different

6061 aluminum plate requires a certain strength, weldability and high corrosion resistance of various industrial structures, such as manufacturing trucks, tower buildings, ships, trams, furniture, machinery parts, instrument processing pipe, bar, profile, plate.

6063 alloy aluminum plate IS USED FOR building profiles, IRRIGATION pipes and extrusion materials for vehicles, platforms, furniture, fence and other uses.

7075 aluminum plate is used for the manufacture of aircraft structures and other high stress structural parts and molds requiring high strength and corrosion resistance.
